hey there how are you?

unEarthed from the bench

when i don't know what to do with myself, i'd try to work on something mundane, like cleaning or grocery shopping.  setting gem is definitely one of those thing.  it doesn't take too much creativity but it does requires full attention.  i had these beauties on my bench for a while, it was the perfect time to finished them.  hours later, gratification obtained.  and a handful of pretty things came into being.  i'll be listing them on the site this weekend.  have a look at my other unEarthed items,...

dreaming in pattern

way waaaaay back in February, which was a life time ago, i had the pleasure of setting foot in Granada.  the Islamic gallery at the Met Museum has been my favorite since it re-opened in 2011.  to see the intricate tile works in person in its palace setting was a dream come true.  with the endless inspirations from the Alhambra, i started playing with some shapes and ideas for the next collection.  by doing so, i'm re-living my experience by going over all the details in my mind.  i am so excited...

We travel for romance, we travel for architecture, and we travel to be lost

and just like that, we arrived at the end of August.  i hope your summer has been lovely.  i hope it got a sprinkle of romance, a dollop of debauchery, a cup full of joy with the top shelf stuff.

for the month of July i hopped down to mexico for a little adventure.  Oaxaca has been on my list for about 7 years.  i remember sitting next to a middle age American lady on a plane many years ago.  she was eating an avocado with a spoon at the window seat.  both of us...
